I am Hye-Jin Paek, the Director of the Institute for Creativity and Interaction.

In our ever-evolving digital landscape -- encompassing AR, VR, XR, the Metaverse, and spatial computing -- we find ourselves encircled by swift transformations. In the midst of this dynamic environment, two important principles stand out: creativity and interaction.

Creativity signifies the ability to unearth novel ideas and tackle fresh challenges. Interaction denotes the dynamic interplay among humans, computer technologies, and our surrounding environments. Established in 2010 on these fundamental tenets, our Institute for Creativity and Interaction undertakes several missions: analyzing societal dilemmas, collectively addressing them through intellectual synergy, and thereby realizing enduring social value.

Our Institute for Creativity and Interaction assembles a consortium of distinguished professors, researchers, and graduate scholars from fields that include creative and strategic planning, digital informatics, and media technology. We pursue a variety of research activities: developing scientifically grounded creativity; devising strategic communication plans, including brand development; integrating cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning into informatics; exploring digital media and interaction within the sphere of media convergence; and contributing to societal well-being through public communication, particularly in contexts involving risks, crises, and health.
In each of these pursuits, we forge collaborative networks with scholars from across the globe and engage in a variety of collaborative research endeavors.
